in the heights on broadway

Last night I saw a preview of In The Heights that is opening ON Broadway next week. I'm excited for this show, as I got to see their Off-Broadway debut a few years ago. Lin-Manuel Miranda, the creator, songwriter, and actor for the show (top middle photo) wrote this while he was in college at Wesleyan University. Years later, his story that revolves around 3 generations of people living on one corner in Washington Heights, his music that mixes hip-hop, classic latino, and pop styles, his characters who reveal the complexities and emotions of belonging to a strong community and discovering your self...well, it's all on the big stage now. It's NOT your typical musical, it's SO New York, and it's just so much fun. Enjoy the show!
