Despite all the controversy of the upcoming summer Olympics, yesterday was the mark of the 100-day countdown for the Beijing Games. I've been mesmerized by the Beijing National Stadium since the announcement that one of my favorites, Herzog and de Meuron, were named design competition winners and was in the works of this creation that resembles a bird's nest. Curious to see how this $400 million+ project responds to the Games as well as post-Games (always the big question, I think). We shall see!
