This week is starting with a look at the sleek and beautiful new residential structure located in Chelsea - Metal Shutter Houses by Shigeru Ban. Noted for his use of common but not-so-common for building materials, Shigeru Ban has created a space that really challenges the ideas of inside/outside, private/public, and light. For example, the condo facade is composed of a motorized, perforated metal shutter that allows the residents to control these aspects for their own space. And, design firm, dbox, has created a great promo website for this newcomer in the city.
