itp show {spring 2009}

Sunday and Monday was the ITP Spring Show {ITP = Interactive Telecommunications Program} that featured projects from their students. Meshing design and technology, there were some interesting concepts, beautiful installations and fun experiments.
Photographed above include some of my favorites: 1. A Fish This Big 2. Firefly 870 LED Protoype 3. TUUUG-of-war 4. Mechanical Storytelling. My friend presented the game TUUUG-of-war where "your voice is your muscle". By calling a number, you become 1 of 6 players who is participating in a game of tug-of-war. You yell into your phone "TUG!" and the volume of your voice is the strength that pulls the rope on a screen. It's simple, interactive and fun - and perfect for a show presentation.
